Chapter 121: Prison break
Chapter 121: Prison break
In the earth only one ocean had remained; its name had changed many times over time, but in the current era they called it the Aram Ocean, and at its depth the military had made a dungeon called Mariana Prison. 14000 meters under the surface, under the water, only highly advanced submarines could go there without being crushed by the pressure of the water.
More famous than the prison itself was its warden, ex-general Kraken. Before his retirement, Earth had no place to imprison the most dangerous criminals, but after he held the Mariana prison, he moved there to play his role as its warden. Thousands of years had passed, and the title of Kraken was passed through his family as they kept the world safe from the prisoners outside.
There were too many unknowns in there, with a whole family with water magic, deep in the ocean; no one ever dared to attack the prison from the outside.
And that was exactly Ray wanted to do. 8000 meters under the water, he swam lower toward the prison. His blood had preserved all the oxygen he needed for two days, and the pressure of water with his new body was like a breeze to him.
In the depths that sunlight had never reached, Ray had closed his eyes, letting his other senses guide him; he couldn’t see anything anyway. Deeper, a glimpse of a huge magic aura was leaking; in response, Ray didn’t hide his aura either.
He wanted them to know he was coming; no teleportation worked inside or outside of the prison, so Marian had to stay in there. The thing was he wanted to face an opponent with the full potential of his new strength.
After minutes he reached the 10,000 milestone and down; they had already noticed him.
Blood lances came to being next to him; he shot them with inhuman speed toward the buildings under the water.
A force repelled them as they got closer, destroying their structure.
More and more lances were shot at the prison, but each of them had the same destiny; Ray didn’t change his attack as he got deeper.
Finally someone with the same aura as the prison came out. With an inhuman speed, it charged toward Ray.
The temperature of the water started to increase; the water started to boil inside the ocean. It got to the point that fish around Ray were getting burned alive.
A wave came out of his body, destroying any water around him. In a small radius around him, Ray was free of water once more, but the water and the heat weakened his shield; it could withstand those two.
The new enemy was well hidden in the ocean, as water bullets came penetrating his shield.
The first one hit Ray’s shoulder; instead of healing, he went in the direction of the bullet. Even if the target was mixed with the water, it had to have a physical form.
His target was faster than him as another came from another direction. Moving his head, the bullet passed next to his head; the sound of it broke the speed of sound for him.
"Such a slippery fish."
Millions of small needles were created around his shield; they were so small that they couldn’t hurt anyone, but Ray’s intention was something else.
All of them were shot in all directions. "There." Something has destroyed some of his needles to his right. More and more bullets came; he dodged some that were targeting his important organs and let the others pierce through his body.
The distance between them got shorter as his needles were destroyed sooner before.
Sensing his target from close for the first time, Ray got furious. A girl with at most being level 5!
"Did they really think she would be able to do anything?"
The temperature of water was returning to normal as her magic slowly ran out from escaping constantly. The gap level between was unimaginable. After another round of needles, Ray this time sent a lance back with each one; she didn’t expect the sudden attack, with blood lancing through her flesh like thin paper.
Before the blood lance could come out of the other side, a force pulled her and the girl back together. The girl watched with terrified eyes as Blood Lance had hooks in her stomach.
Her fear didn’t last long as a blood lance cut her throat; she was dead even before she knew.
Ignoring the corpse, Ray once again moved downwards.
Outside of the prison, two people were watching the battle; all five were the remaining members of the Kraken family, with the true Kraken inside the prison still protecting the prisoners.
Two level 8 people awaited Ray’s arrival.
In a faraway place, a woman yelled:
"I’m going in, and I don’t care about you, Katarina."
Katarina rolled her eyes, since the return of Blood Angel, the general in question had acted too rushed. "All I’m saying is we don’t know how strong he truly is." And there is the Witch; we don’t really know if she is dead too."
Alexandria picked up her katana from atop the table. "Then I will kill both of them. Don’t forget, Katarina, I’m the one who gives orders."
"Then at least let me pull you out if things got messy; if you are confident enough, then it wouldn’t be necessary."
"No." With that, she burst out of the room, toward the Aram ocean.
Katarina sighed, "Is it too late to change sides?"
After the death of Ray and Jade, everything had gone perfect for her. Revealing her magic to the generals, she easily got promotion after promotion because of insane potential. In only two years she had become level 7; if things went smoothly, she would have become a general in two or three years.
But everything crashed down as Ray returned; the military was strong, but they lacked a person like Ray to be able to kill him.
"If Jade is alive too, I’m going to kill myself."
